Jídlem proti rakovině

I když žádná potravina nemá magické vlastnosti, které by člověka před rakovinou bezpečně ochránily, může správná strava nebezpečí vzniku rakoviny podstatně snížit.

Po deseti letech byly nedávno zveřejněny výsledky druhé mezinárodní studie, která zkoumala vztahy mezi určitými druhy potravin a rakovinou. Je možné vhodnou stravou rakovině předcházet? Zastavit ji? Nebo ji úplně zlikvidovat?.

I když žádná potravina nemá magické vlastnosti, které by člověka před rakovinou bezpečně ochránily, může správná strava nebezpečí vzniku rakoviny podstatně snížit. Podle údajů Světové zdravotnické organizace (WHO) až o třicet procent. První zpráva Světového fondu pro výzkum rakoviny došla před jedenácti lety k podobnému závěru. Vhodným složením jídla by bylo možné ročně snížit ve světě počet nových případů rakoviny až o tři miliony. Druhá zpráva této organizace byla nyní zveřejněna souběžně ve Velké Británii a v USA. Výzkum prováděl dvacetičlenný mezinárodní tým. Vědci vycházeli z pěti set tisíc studií, z nichž vybrali dvaadvacet tisíc, a soustředili se nakonec na sedm tisíc relevantních. Výsledkem pro širokou veřejnost je mimo jiné deset oficiálně vyhlášených zásad správné výživy, které by měly významně pomoci v boji proti rakovině.

  1. Omezit potraviny s vysokou kalorickou hodnotou, zejména takové, kde kalorická hodnota představuje 225 a více kilokalorií na 100 gramů potravin. Jde především o jídla z prodejen rychlého občerstvení a sladké nápoje.
  2. Jíst hodně zeleniny. Základem stravy by měla být zelenina a ne maso. Denně by měl mít člověk na jídelníčku minimálně 400 gramů zeleniny nebo ovoce.
  3. Hlídat od dětství důsledně BMI (Body Mass Index). Podle zprávy je nejlepší, když se hmotnost blíží ke spodním hodnotám ideálního BMI. Váhu odpovídající ideálnímu BMI by si měl člověk udržet po celý život.
  4. Každý den být fyzicky aktivní. Fyzická aktivita je účinnou zbraní proti některým druhům rakoviny, v každém případě pomáhá udržovat hmotnost v limitech.
  5. Omezit konzumaci uzenin a červeného masa. Tyto potraviny mají přímou souvislost s rakovinou.
  6. Omezit alkohol. Maximálně se doporučuje jedna až dvě sklenky vína denně.
  7. Omezit jídla konzervovaná solí.
  8. Vystříhat se potravinových doplňků. Nejlepším zdrojem vitaminů, minerálů a stopových prvků by měla být přirozená strava.
  9. Doporučují se ryby a dary moře. Je to první oficiální zpráva, která výslovně upozorňuje na jejich blahodárné účinky.
  10. I lidé, u kterých už byla rakovina diagnostikována, by se těmito zásadami měli řídit. Z rakoviny se stává téměř chronická choroba. Život lidí, kteří se na ni léčí, se prodlužuje, přibývá lidí v remisi a není vyloučeno, že i oni mohou onemocnět dalším typem rakoviny. Správně složený jídelníček by je mohl ochránit.

Hlavním problémem je tyto zásady realizovat v praxi. Genetické vlohy po otci či matce si vybírat nemůžeme, ale to, co jíme, ano. Navíc podle nejnovějších výzkumů ovlivňuje dědičnost výskyt rakoviny jen asi z deseti procent. Pomocné studie z USA a Kanady ukázaly, že děti ve věku tří až patnácti let tam jí méně než 150 gramů zeleniny a ovoce denně místo doporučovaných 400 gramů. Evropské studie došly k podobným závěrům. Průzkumy prováděné mezi 13 000 školáky v roce 2006 zjistily, že pouze dvacet procent dotazovaných jí dostatečné množství zeleniny a ovoce.

KANADSKÉ VÝZKUMY

Krajíček celozrnného chleba s lososem a brokolicí. Zapít zeleným čajem. To je doporučené složení oběda podle kanadských vědců, kteří se výzkumem rakoviny a vlivem potravin na její výskyt zabývají. Zdůrazňují, že jídlo se může stát účinnou prevencí i každodenní chemoterapií bez devastujících vedlejších účinků. Tvrdí, že správná strava ničí drobné tumory a brání vzniku nových. Je to každodenní boj. Kanadští vědci už více než deset let podrobně zkoumají, jak proti rakovinným buňkám působí jednotlivé konkrétní druhy potravin. Výzkumu, který je bohatě financován, se účastní čtyři desítky vědců v Montrealu a v Quebecu. V nemocnici Sainte-Justine v Montrealu vše začíná kulturami rakovinných buněk odebraných nemocným. Jsou skladovány při teplotách minus 80 stupňů Celsia a jsou tu zastoupeny všechny typy rakoviny nejrůznějších orgánů. V další fázi se v laboratoři vytvářejí extrakty z různých potravin, například z brokolice. Extrakt se přidá k rakovinným buňkám určitého typu, které jsou umístěny v klasické Petriho misce při teplotě lidského těla 37 stupňů Celsia. Zhruba po osmačtyřiceti hodinách se kultura vyhodnocuje. Zda se rakovinné buňky množí a jak rychle, či zda se nemnoží vůbec nebo zda mizí. Ve výzkumných kanadských laboratořích se zkoumají všechny druhy potravin včetně místních sirupů a u všech se vyhodnocuje jejich schopnost zastavit bujení rakovinných buněk.
